It was John Hoag's privilege to be raised in the city of Toronto in a fine Christian home and at nineteen years of age to be led to saving faith in Christ by Rev. George McAlpine. Mr. Hoag enrolled at the New Brunswick Bible Institute in the Fall of 1965 and graduated in 1968. He then served for a short time as Pastor of the People's  Church in Somerville, NB, and helped found the Belleville Baptist Church in Belleville, NB. Mr. Hoag joined the faculty of NBBI in a full-time capacity in 1972 and has faithfully served the Lord here as a teacher, administrator and board member. After serving as our Principal for 25 years, Mr. Hoag now holds the title Chancellor and continues to devote his time teaching and preaching the Word of God in our classrooms and on the road representing our school throughout the Eastern United States, Ontario, Quebec and the Maritime Provinces. John's wife Heather is a graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute, and the school's librarian.  The Hoags have three children, all are married and know Christ as their Savior.  They have five grandchildren.
